Every Child Deserves a Safe Childhood

When a child goes missing, every second matters. NCMEC is the nation’s leading child protection organization, working to find missing children and keep all children safe.

NCMEC operates in real time alongside law enforcement—coordinating urgent responses, analyzing critical reports, and providing expert guidance when it matters most. In the face of the unthinkable, families turn to NCMEC as a trusted partner—offering clarity, compassion, and steady support during the most overwhelming moments.

Story Behind the Leadership

The Honorable Regina B. Schofield
2026 NCMEC Board Chair

Join me in supporting NCMEC. A donation today can make an immediate, life‑saving difference for children and families.

Regina’s path to NCMEC was shaped by years of public service dedicated to protecting children and supporting victims. During her time at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Office of Justice Programs, she worked on initiatives focused on child safety, and expanding victim support and Tribal engagement.

During her time at OJP, she instituted Amber Alert in Indian Country with CTIA – the industry representing the wireless communications industry. Before the passage of AAIC in 2018, she understood the importance of strong, integrated systems & quick coordination with LEOs and other community partners.

Today, as Chair of the Board, she is deeply committed to helping advance NCMEC’s work to reunite families, prevent exploitation, and support law enforcement and communities in moments of urgent need. She believes that our mission & efforts should be driven by urgency, compassion, and determination to protect and support children and families.

For Regina, this service is personal. It reflects a lifelong belief that protecting children requires not only strong systems, but also a shared responsibility to act quickly and do everything possible when a child’s safety is at risk.

Every child deserves to be safe, supported, and found.

Your donation keeps critical resources in place so NCMEC can respond the moment a child goes missing. It strengthens prevention efforts that protect children before harm occurs. And it provides ongoing support for families and survivors on the path to recovery.

Our board members help lead this work alongside a dedicated team committed to protecting children every single day. We invite you to join them.

Make a gift today and stand with the families who need it most.
