Matt has been involved with NCMEC since 2005, first drawn to its mission while encountering Team Adam during Hurricane Katrina relief efforts and seeing their work to protect and recover missing children.
Over time, that commitment became more personal and more urgent through his work in technology, his life as a parent, and what he has seen in missing children cases—moments that make the risks feel real, immediate, and deeply human. It’s where the promise of technology and its vulnerabilities collide.
That perspective is what has guided his work with NCMEC. He has focused on strengthening the tools and systems used to help locate and recover missing children, improving response capabilities, and helping families better understand the realities of online risk. In 2010, he created a parent-focused training program to give caregivers something practical they can use in real life, not just awareness, but action.
His perspective is shaped by more than 30 years in technology and communications—building systems that support government, education, and public safety organizations—and an early career as a Federal Investigator, where accountability and service were central. Across all of it, the focus has been consistent: technology should not only connect and innovate, but also protect.
At the center of his work with NCMEC is a simple belief: when awareness, technology, and coordination come together, outcomes for children and families can change.
