Every Child Deserves a Safe Childhood

When a child goes missing, every second matters. NCMEC is the nation’s leading child protection organization, working to find missing children and keep all children safe.

NCMEC operates in real time alongside law enforcement—coordinating urgent responses, analyzing critical reports, and providing expert guidance when it matters most. In the face of the unthinkable, families turn to NCMEC as a trusted partner—offering clarity, compassion, and steady support during the most overwhelming moments.

Story Behind the Leadership

Kenneth Valentine
2026 NCMEC Board

Join me in supporting NCMEC. A donation today can make an immediate, life‑saving difference for children and families.

Ken built a career around one core belief: the best way to protect people is to stop threats before they become tragedies. Over more than two decades with the U.S. Secret Service, he helped safeguard three U.S. presidents, led the Dignitary Protective Division, and directed protective operations in more than 70 countries. Today, he brings that same preventive mindset to protecting children.

Ken's connection to NCMEC began in 2005 while serving on the Senate Judiciary Committee staff. Working alongside NCMEC, he helped develop legislation that became the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, strengthening protections for children across the country. That experience reinforced his conviction that protecting children requires strong partnerships, thoughtful preparation, and decisive action before harm occurs.

Today, Ken helps advance NCMEC's mission as a member of its Board of Directors. He believes protecting children isn't only about responding when a child is in crisis—it's about building the technology, partnerships, training, and resources that help prevent exploitation in the first place. That's the kind of protection he spent a lifetime delivering, and it's the future he's committed to helping NCMEC build.

Every child deserves to be safe, supported, and found.

Your donation keeps critical resources in place so NCMEC can respond the moment a child goes missing. It strengthens prevention efforts that protect children before harm occurs. And it provides ongoing support for families and survivors on the path to recovery.

Our board members help lead this work alongside a dedicated team committed to protecting children every single day. We invite you to join them.
